Blue Haven Marina, Turks & Caicos, Open for 2017-2018 Season Post Hurricane Irma

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – December 18, 2017 – Blue Haven Marina announced today that it is open and accepting dockage reservations for this yachting season. As the top charter destination in Turks & Caicos, Providenciales received a near direct hit from Hurricane Irma earlier this year in September and has worked tirelessly to complete repairs and inspections to ensure dockage for visiting yachts.

“We are thankful for the tremendous support from IGY Marinas, our shareholders, contractors, inspectors, our community, and most of all, our marina team for their dedication in helping us accomplish our goal to re-open this season,” said Adam Foster, General Manager of Blue Haven Marina. “We look forward to welcoming all vessels and providing the best accommodations and level of services available in the Caribbean.”

The team at Blue Haven Marina have been busy catching lines, taking reservations, and arranging concierge services for guests. At this time, approximately 50% of the slips are open and available to accommodate vessels during their stays in Turks & Caicos. Reservations are highly recommended as vessels are arriving daily and there is limited slip availability through the Turks & Caicos islands.

The marina’s fueling system has passed thorough testing and is providing ultra-low-sulfur diesel as well as non-ethanol gasoline at the fuel dock. Additional marina services, such as concierge, pilotage, and on-site customs & immigration are fully operational and assisting current guests. In-slip water and power are expected to be fully restored to the docks by January 1, 2018.

“The Turks & Caicos Islands, overall, have rebounded incredibly well,” Mr. Foster stated. “The reef that surrounds our beautiful Islands was not damaged and we still have access to some of the best diving in the world on our doorstep.” Mr. Foster also shared that the island’s day to day activity, business, and commerce are all fully operational, including island grocers, provisioners, repair shops, shopping areas, restaurants, FBO’s, excursions and adventures.

Blue Haven Marina opened in the fall of 2013 and achieved its first 5 Gold Anchor Accreditation from The Yacht Harbour Association in 2014. 5 Gold Anchor Accreditations are issued every three (3) years and candidates must meet industry standards and maintain the highest ratings in categories with direct regards to, Marina Audit, Mystery Shops, and Berth Holders Questionnaires. Marinas must also house luxury facilities and uphold customer service as a top priority. Recently, in June 2017, Blue Haven Marina received the accreditation for the second time in a row, joining IGY Marinas Yacht Haven Grande, Yacht Club at Isle de Sol, and Rodney Bay Marina to be the only marinas in the history of The Yacht Harbor Association to ever achieve the feat consecutively.
